From the Desk of Dr. Barker

Dear AHS Faculty, Students and Parents,

The LA County Public Health Department has issued the Stay at Home order until May 15, 2020.  Our 2nd semester classes are scheduled to end on Friday, May 22nd.  If the County order is lifted and facilities are re-opened it will be with strict social distancing restrictions.  At this point, I don't believe that we will be able to finish the school year in the LA Galaxy Soccer Center with 500 square foot classrooms. The students would be very close to each other, and holding classes during finals week in close proximity to each other would most likely violate county and state restrictions.

Because of these restrictions, we will finish all courses for the 2019-20 school year at home, with classes, final exams, & AP tests being held online.

AHS will start classes at our new campus on August 19, 2020.  The new AHS campus will have classrooms that are over 900 square feet and classes will be able to meet safely. I have attached a few pictures of our new campus and classrooms.

Our faculty and students are doing an amazing job meeting online and our attendance has been consistent at 99%.  Thank you for all your work to support our students during this terrible virus.

Currently, we are praying for Prom to happen June 6th, and Graduation has been postponed until we can hold the ceremony in person.  The Seniors requested to hold graduation as a group in June or July if possible.

If you have any questions please let me know, or if you need anything our staff is here to help.

Blessings,
Dr. Barker
