Imago Dei: Shattering Racism Through the Love of Christ is a club that discusses and breaks down systemic racism. Imago Dei works to create a safe space for people of all races to come together to understand injustice. The members of Imago Dei will effect change in decreasing racial inequality by applying the Gospel, by educating others, and by participating in community service. We will seek God and speak truth in love as we have the uncomfortable discussions so often swept under the rug. Rooted in the belief that we are all made in the Image of God (Genesis 1:27) Imago Dei hopes to bring the AHS community together to go out and serve!
There are only two requirements to join:
That you are prepared to have open and honest discussions about race based on the belief stated in Psalm 139:14, that we are all “fearfully and wonderfully made”
That during our monthly meetings (every third thursday at lunch) that you abide by our only rule of discussion, stated in Proverbs 15:1, “a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”
