Speech & Debate

Small but mighty, Ambassador High School’s Speech and Debate team is a perfect opportunity for students who are interested in real life issues, hope to pursue a career in fields such as law or politics, or simply wish to hone their speaking and reasoning skills. Its members share a passion for research, rhetoric, and reasoning. Working with bimonthly topics from a variety of social and political issues, club members learn to see both sides of an issue, articulate and cultivate compelling arguments, and interact with other high schoolers at competitions. The smaller size allows for a multitude of practice debates to be held before each competition, with individualized feedback being offered by coach and teammates to make sure everyone can grow and thrive. The team is fully devoted to the success of all, aiming to cultivate an atmosphere of communication and encouragement, no matter the experience or confidence levels of those who wish to participate.
